When the Shots Rang Out
Deputies began the process of clearing the park by forming a perimeter and issuing commands over loudspeakers telling attendees to disperse at once. Roughly 15 minutes were spent for the crowd to leave.

Metro Fire Sacramento assisted at the location and assisted with medical triage the four victims before they were taken to the hospital.
Physical Evidence
The primary shooting scene was believed to have happened along the Cottage Way corridor next to the local Home Depot located at the 2200 Howe Avenue block. Investigators recovered more spent casings throughout the Cottage Way area. Projectile impacts were also found in the wrought iron fence alongside the nearby Home Depot.
